MEMORANDUM TO ALL CROW WING COMPOSITE SQUADRON PERSONNEL

COMMANDER’S INTENT
FROM: MAJOR ALAN D. BOOTH, CROW WING COMPOSITE SQUADRON COMMANDER
1. I am humbled at the opportunity to take on command of the Crow Wing Composite Squadron. Being a former cadet and returning senior member at Crow Wing, I have many fond memories of friends, family, and colleagues along with high expectations for our squadron. My philosophy on command is one of servant leadership and extreme ownership. The success of our squadron will be through the professionalism, comradery, and dedication of our Cadets, Non-Commissioned Officers, and Officers. The failure of our squadron will fall solely on me. Knowing this, it is my duty to provide every member of the Crow Wing Composite Squadron with the opportunity to succeed and be of service to their community, state, and nation.
2. I would like to outline my intent for the squadron during my tenure as commander:
1. THE MISSION: As Civil Air Patrol members we have been granted an opportunity not afforded too many to serve our community, state, and nation by executing our congressionally chartered missions of Cadet Programs, Emergency Services, and Aerospace Education. To accomplish these missions, we must exemplify our core values and work steadfastly to improve ourselves.
2. THE END STATE: We live in a time of rapid societal and technological change. These changes will allow us to look for new and innovative ways for the Civil Air Patrol to be mission-ready and mission-effective. Together we as professional volunteers can seek out excellence through the challenges that change brings.
3. I am extremely proud to count myself amongst the cadets and senior members who call the Crow Wing Composite Squadron home. These dedicated volunteers of past and present have established the Crow Wing Composite Squadron as the home of excellence and I look forward to building upon this legacy.
